It appears this code may be good until September 30, 2009, but that is unclear so if you’re interested, it would be better to try it sooner than later. Life Extension’s Mega EPA/DHA fish oil is on sale through September 14, 2009, at 65% off regular price. It is a very good quality fish oil supplement and also very well priced at $6.98 per bottle of 120 softgels. It is a double strength formulation with reduced cholesterol, meaning that it is equivalent of 240 typical fish oil softgels. As you may know, fish oil is well-reputed for managing blood lipid levels, particularly helping to lower LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. What you may not know is that many common brands of fish oil supplements contain a considerable amount of cholesterol in each softgel. Mega EPA/DHA has twice the EPA and DHA (the primary beneficial Omega-3 fish oil compounds), half the calories, and 80% less cholesterol per softgel versus Costco’s Kirkland Signature Fish Oil Concentrate that is regularly priced at $9.69 (plus tax) for 400 regular strength softgels.
Life Extension Mega EPA/DHA Fish Oil is useful for improving your health in many ways. In addition to helping cut down unhealthy blood lipid levels (LDL cholesterol and triglycerides), it is also helpful for reducing the risk of depression, blood clots, inflammation disorders, heart attacks, and strokes. Fish oils containing significant quantities of DHA in particular are believed to improve brain and nervous system health.

In these doom and gloom financial times, most of us don’t have the money to give expensive new healthcare choices a try. TA Sciences is trying to help make such choices a little more affordable. The company has made an offer to Life Extension members for a 10% discount on their TA-65 services and products. TA-65 is used to lengthen telomeres in the hopes of improving health and lifespan. This discount is worth more than $900 just for the initial testing and 6 months of treatment:
(from Turning on Immortality: The Debate Over Telomerase Activation)
The TA Sciences Center is located in Manhattan, NY. The Patton Protocol with TA-65 costs approximately $2,500 for initial tests (including extensive blood work, telomere length measurements, and seven biomarkers of aging). The first six months of the protocol is approximately $6,725. Members of the Life Extension Foundation receive a 10% discount off of these prices. TA Sciences can be contacted at:

If you’re trying to save money in these sorry economic times, one way to do it may be to consult with your doctor on switching to common generic medications available at low prices via Walmart Pharmacy. Often newer medications don’t work much better than older ones, yet they usually carry higher prices and sometimes unknown long-term side effects. Click on the Walmart $4 Prescription Program for more information.
Print out a copy of the $4 generic prescription medicines list and take it to your doctor visits for your doctor to consult if you need refills or new prescriptions. Doctors are often not particularly conscious of how much medications cost, so this could help you save a lot of money if a low-cost generic can be used rather than a newer name-brand drug. Also ask your doctor about writing prescriptions for 90 days rather than 30 days. This may help you save a little additional money as many prescriptions are available for $10 for 90 days, thus saving you about another $8 per year.
Some of the most widely used generic medications available on this program include Glyburide and Metformin used widely by people with pre-diabetes and diabetes, Lovastatin and Pravastatin which are used for lowering LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, and Amitriptyline and Citalopram and Trazodone which are commonly used as antidepressants.

As you may be aware, the latest Life Extension Overstock Sale ends on June 8, 2009. We’d like to call your attention to two of the overstock sale products that are a particularly good deal and would be useful for a lot of people trying to lower their cholesterol and blood lipid (fat) levels.
Life Extension Mega EPA/DHA Fish Oil is useful for improving your health in many ways. In addition to helping cut down unhealthy blood lipid levels (LDL cholesterol and triglycerides), it is also helpful for reducing depression, reducing the risk of blood clots and general inflammation, and improving brain and nervous system health.
The second product we’ll discuss at the end of this article is Life Extension Vitamin B3 Niacin. It’s good for lowering LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and reducing stroke and heart attack risk. It can also increase beneficial HDL cholesterol and improve blood flow. However, you should discuss using it with your doctor to be on the safe side as people with liver disorders may not be able to safely use it.

Life Extension Foundation is a non-profit organization that funds research studies and public educations campaigns. It does this in part by selling nutritional supplements.
One of their publications we enjoy on a regular basis is their monthly Life Extension Magazine. It’s a mix between health and diet news and production information. It generally features three or four major articles on particular health topics plus news tidbits on recent medical research. Information on Life Extension’s products is mixed in as advertisements.
Recent articles have covered topics such as stopping and reversing age-related bone loss, the link between autism and vitamin D insufficiency, and a summary of research on quercetin which is another compound found in red wine that in conjunction with resveratrol may help explain the “French Paradox” of how the wine-drinking French live a little longer.
Since it’s free, the worst case is it is like getting a dietary supplement catalog delivered to your home every month. Best case, it may help you save a life — yours, or that of a family member or friend.
We’d encourage you to sign up for your complimentary subscription to Life Extension magazine today!
We’ve previously written about how increasing vitamin B12 intake can help reduce the frequency and severity of canker sores. B12 is also critically important for heart and nervous system health. Unfortunately, some of the best B12 supplements are generally fairly expensive as they use large doses of the less common methylcobalamin form of the vitamin.
The good news is that until April 6, 2009, there’s a terrific deal on sublingual (under the tongue) vitamin B12 via the Life Extension Overstock Sale for just $6.40 for a bottle of 60 tablets of 5000mcg (5mg) each. These are the more expensive and readily metabolized methylcobalamin form, so folks whose livers cannot convert the common cheap cyanocobalamin form of B12 can still benefit. Even in a healthy normal person, the liver converts just 1% of cyanocobalamin into the biologically active methylcobalamin form.

Life Extension Foundation offers some of the most innovative health supplement products. They often sponsor research studies to determine what supplements work and what dosages are required to be beneficial and safe. They are great at spreading the news about new research findings, and are often battling with the US government to keep the Feds from messing up the citizen’s ability to buy beneficial dietary supplements. However, one downside is that their products are not the cheapest on the block.
One of the least expensive sources we have found for Life Extension’s products is the BoomJ Store. BoomJ often has prices on single-quantity orders that beat the quantity 4+ member prices on Life Extension’s own web site. BoomJ is also a social networking site. Considering their target audience is the “over 35” crowd, we can see why they would be interested in offering competitive prices on dietary supplements.
